How refund operators work
At most tax-free shops, a Tax Refund Operator (TRO) handles the customs-confirmation data and pays your refund. Each shop chooses its own operator, so the available refund methods, fees and registration steps can differ from shop to shop.
Check your receipt, the store's tax-free guide or the QR-code sheet to find out which operator your shop uses. You generally cannot choose the operator yourself.
The actual refund amount is the consumption tax amount minus a handling fee. The fee varies depending on the refund company and the refund method.
